Braulio Roque Hernández · Embedded hardware & PCB design — About

I'm Braulio Roque, a mechatronics engineering student at Universidad Panamericana. I specialize in embedded hardware, power electronics and high-density routing. While my main focus is electronic design, I keep the whole product in view: from mechanical modeling and firmware to lab validation and bring-up.

Background

Experience

2025 – present Embedded hardware designer · Freelance Canada-based electronics engineering consultancy

I develop boards end to end for the consultancy's clients: IoT and telemetry, instrumentation, motor control, RF and medical devices. Schematics, multilayer PCBs of up to 18 layers, part selection and BOM, and bring-up support. Most of the freelance projects on this site come from that work.

Teams & activities

2024 – 2026 Build UP

Designed the control and power PCB for a dynamic earthquake simulator (up to 10 Hz): overcurrent and reverse-polarity protection, a dual power architecture (mains or USB power bank) and a wireless link for real-time remote control during demonstrations.

2024 – 2025 Stella Ignis

Led a rocket's telemetry and avionics system: accelerometer, barometer and GPS acquisition at 200 Hz, altitude estimation with ±3 m accuracy and a real-time bidirectional RF link at 2 km.

2022 – 2026 Pantera Robotics

Developed the control electronics and mechatronic integration for competition robots (Robomatrix Oaxaca 2022): power stages for high-torque traction, sensor conditioning for fast response and tuning of autonomous navigation on drones.

Capabilities

Hands-on experience across the different stages of hardware development.

  • Architecture & multilayer design

Schematics, part selection, high-density multilayer routing and integration with the enclosure and firmware.

    InkLab
  • Bring-up & lab validation

Bring-up and debugging on real hardware, validating signals and expected behavior with lab instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer and signal generator).

    SAFE-LOCKPULSO
  • Redesign & optimization

Continuing existing projects: replacing discontinued or out-of-stock parts, reducing area and cost, and improving performance.

    LOGGERPRISMA
  • Reverse engineering

Analysis of existing boards to document them, diagnose them or reproduce how they work.

    LECTOR RFID
  • Feasibility & BOM

Pre-design assessment: preliminary parts selection, cost estimate, market research and supplier contact.

    CANVAS
  • Modular prototyping

Boards built around off-the-shelf modules to speed up validation and cut costs, avoiding the fragility and interference of breadboard or loose-wire prototypes.
